While his family mourns his loss, they also celebrate a life that was lived fully, boldly, and on his own terms.\n\nBorn in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to William James Jordan, Sr. and Ann Kosierowski (Lord), Bill spent his early years growing up on Long Island, New York. In the 1970s, he made his way to North Carolina, a place that quickly became home and where he would spend the rest of his life building not only a successful career, but a lasting legacy.\n\nBill proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed at West Point where he was the founding member of the first Rock N Roll Band at “The Point “ called the Nite Ryders .Bill played the electric bass and trombone and served as a supply sergeant with the USMA Band .The discipline, determination, and strong work ethic he carried throughout his life were rooted in those years of service.\n\nFor Bill, work was never simply a job—it was a passion. As the founder of JRS Farms and Bill Jordan Land & Homes, Inc., he dedicated decades to land development and helping families find places to call home. He loved the challenge of a new project, the excitement of a deal coming together, and the satisfaction of seeing an idea become reality. Anyone who knew Bill knew that his office was his happy place. It was where he felt most alive, surrounded by plans, conversations, and possibilities. Even after a lifetime of accomplishments, he never lost his drive or his enthusiasm for what came next.\n\nBut the people who loved Bill knew there was much more to him than business.\n\nHe had a deep appreciation for history and could spend hours discussing people, places, and events from the past. He loved to travel and enjoyed discovering new places and creating new memories along the way. Whether around a card table, behind the wheel of a Cadillac, or talking baseball, or playing music ,Bill was happiest when he was sharing time with others. He had a lifelong love affair with Cadillacs and took great pride in them. He was also a devoted New York Yankees fan, a loyalty that never faded despite moving south and making North Carolina his home.\n\nBill lived with energy, confidence, and an undeniable love for life. He was a dreamer, a builder, and a man who believed in working hard and thinking big. He was known for his determination, his strong personality, and his ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He enjoyed telling stories, sharing ideas, and talking about the things he loved. His presence filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt.\n\nAbove all else, Bill loved his family.\n\nHe is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Jordan; his children, Brad Burch, Deserie Byrum, Timmy Jordan, and Jimmy Jordan; his brother, Robert (“Bob”) Jordan and his wife, Pat Jordan; his sister-in-law, Linda Jordan; and his cherished granddaughter, Marissa Byrum. He was preceded in death by his parents, William James Jordan, Sr. and Ann Kosierowski (Lord), and his brother, Ricky Jordan.\n\nThose who knew Bill will remember a man who never stopped moving forward, who found joy in his work, pride in his accomplishments, and happiness in the people he loved. He built more than businesses and developments—he built relationships, memories, and a life that mattered.\n\nHis family takes comfort in knowing that while Bill’s journey on earth has ended, the impact he made will continue for generations. His stories will be retold, his lessons remembered, and his love carried forward by those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.\n\nA life well lived. A man well loved. A legacy that will endure."}},"city":"Durham","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"2026-06-12","age":81,"image":{"localFile":{"publicURL":"/static/4ec4580b76d2cbe64312ac8d68ebcad5/object_Object_c9e0bdda12.jpeg"}}},"services":{"edges":[{"node":{"frontmatter":{"title":"Direct Cremation","slug":"cremation","path":"/services/cremation","icon":"icons/icon-urn.svg","price":"$1196.75","blurb":"Nobody likes surprise costs added in at the last minute.
