Steven Rosenberg

It is with deep profound sorrow that I announce that my very much-loved husband Steven Rosenberg, age 66, died on September 24th 2025. He leaves his wife of 40 years, and others, who came to him for advice and guidance, behind to navigate this world without his logical but uniquely quirky perspective. Steve relocated to NC from Brooklyn NY 38 years ago with his wife Leslie, and their 2 cats Motley and Booger. We loved NC as soon as we moved here and adapted well to the slow pace of country life and continued to adapt to the many modern changes to our rural towns. We loved living near the farms but also close enough to the Town and shopping centers and we felt as though we had the best of both worlds. And we did.
Steve loved all creatures great and small and had a strong affinity for reptiles. He became known to several pet stores as the lizard healer. They would call him when they had creatures mostly lizards, with damaged or deformed limbs, and he would get them at a discount, and bring them home and rehabilitate them by giving them a large plastic pool in a cage he built himself, and most healed or even regrew a limb. He loved cats and we rescued and adopted many over the years and took care of many feral cats as well, feeding them and building them wooden shelters. Steve graduated high school and went to college a year early and had superior math skills but preferred retail and owned a Baseball Card Store in Cary specializing in Antique Baseball cards. Steve is already profoundly missed, and leaves behind his lost and loving wife Leslie, his brother David, his sister in laws Dawn and Adrienne, his nieces Lauren, Natalie and Grace, his nephews Michael and Nicolas and his furry kids, our cats, Larry, Fozzie Bear and EB
