Gertrude Driver Averett

Gertrude Driver Averett, 96, of Rougemont, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 5, 2023.

Gertrude was born and raised in VA but lived the past 74 years in Granville Co., NC. She was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also enriched the lives of many young children over the years as a teacher at Berea Elementary School.

Mrs. Averett is survived by her daughter, Linda A Rives of Durham; three sons: Frank Jefferson (Jeff) Averett, Jr of Raleigh, John Robert (Bob) Averett and Noel Daniel (Dan) Averett both of Rougemont, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
