Douglas Rhea Harpe

Douglas Rhea Harpe passed from this life to the next on Sunday 10/1/23. He was 60 years old being born 3/4/1963 in Cleveland, Tennessee in Bradley County to the late Kevin Lloyd Harpe and Clata Lucille Bandy Warren.

Douglas and his family moved to Durham, N.C. in 1974 where he attended elementary school and high school graduating in 1982. He attended business college in 1983 and started working for Durham Exchange Club Industries in 1984. He worked for DECI until his retirement in 2007. Douglas was a member of Cole Mill Road Church of Christ from 1979 until his death. He had a deep rooted faith in God and the saving grace of Jesus Christ that never wavered. Doug loved his church, family, friends and a special love for his nieces Lilly and Lexi Harpe.

Douglas had numerous health challenges in his life starting from adolescence but persevered and was an inspiration to all people he knew. He had many interests of which was music especially Elvis Presley who he saw in person in 1976. Douglas had a great love for eating out, animals and spending time with his friends.
Douglas’ persona is larger than death.

A memorial service will be held 11/11/23 at 11am at Cole Mill Road Church of Christ , 1617 Cole Mill Road in Durham, N.C. 27705 celebrating his life.

Douglas is survived by brothers David Harpe, Clay Thaxton and Dennis Harpe.
Sister, Celia George and Sister in Laws Lisa Harpe, Jessica Harpe and Linda Thaxton.
Lastly he is survived by his beloved nieces Lilly Harpe and Lexi Harpe.
