Kay Cahoon

Kay Blackwell Cahoon, 89, died peacefully in Raleigh NC on January 9, 2024 following an extended illness. Born in Danville, Virginia, Kay was a homemaker in New Bern, NC. She was active in her church and served as a volunteer at Caswell Center in Kinston (several thousand hours) as well as volunteering at Craven Regional Medical Center as a “gray lady.”

Kay was preceded in death by her only daughter, Ellen, and by her husband of 62 years, Roy. She is survived by her son, Brian and his wife Amy, New Bern, as well as her son, Randy and his husband Russell who reside in North Raleigh.

Burial will take place in New Bern Memorial Cemetery. No memorial service is currently scheduled. Brian and his brother Randy encourage friends to call them or visit in person.
