Marty Hester

Marty Jo Hester passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 52. He was a native and resident of Raleigh North Carolina. Marty was born on April 13th 1972 to Ed and Judith Hester in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduating from Athens Drive High School, he went to work for the City of Raleigh as an automotive specialist. He also worked and ran his own valet company for 20+ years.

Marty was a loving friend, brother, uncle, and pop pop to his family. He is survived by his brothers Steve Hooker (Deb), Scott Hester, Paul Hester (Shaile, Morgan and Shanan), Matthew Hester (Christina, Kenny, Charleston, and Chase). Along with his sons Ryan Hester (Carley) and Cameron Hester (Morgan, Caroline, and Oakley).

Marty truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. He was not only generous in life, but also in death as an organ donor. Annually, Marty participated as Santa for the event “Shop with a Cop” through Raleigh Police Department Foundation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Raleigh Police Department Foundation. Donation checks can be mailed to P.O Box 18283 Raleigh, NC 27619.
