Melanie Sue Davenport

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Melanie Sue Davenport.

Melanie was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and cherished member of our family. She passed away peacefully at home on February 11th, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 64.

Melanie was born in Rochester, New York on December 7th, 1960. She was the Class of 1979 valedictorian of Calvary Christian School in Winter Garden, Florida. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1986.

Melanie was a long-time member of the Seven Oaks Swim and Racquet Club. She enjoyed the sweeter things in life like meals with friends, and shopping for anything pink with glitter or sparkles.

She was the beloved mother of Matthew and Cameron. She is also survived by her sisters, Cyndie and Beth; brother in law Sam, nephew Robert and niece Ashton, and her parents, Harry and Edwina. Melanie is preceded in death by her brother, Dougie.

A private funeral service will be held in the Chapel at City of Oaks Funeral Home. Please reach out to the family for service details.
