Cathren Green

Cathren Francis Owenby Green passed away on August 9, 2025 in Wilson, NC at the age of 83 and joined her parents and siblings who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Joseph "Joe" Green, his wife Tracy and three grandchildren: Ashley, Carleigh and Jasper "Bubba" in addition to 3 generations of many nieces and nephews.

Cathren was born on April 5, 1942 in Blairsville, GA to parents, James Leary Owenby and Esta Phillips Owenby. During her years growing up in the 50s in Marietta, GA, she played on basketball and softball teams at the Elizabeth School.

She was a beautician by trade and sold Avon. She also crocheted, all of her life, the most beautiful afghans, bedspreads, sweaters, scarves, hats, doilies, etc.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
