Anne Sandy (Jones) Harold

Anne Sandy (Jones) Harold, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of 94. Born on November 1, 1930, in Garner, North Carolina, Anne lived a full and joyful life rooted in family, community, and the simple pleasures she cherished.

Anne was a devoted homemaker and partner, and together with her family, co-owned Raleigh Flying Service. She also worked with the North Carolina License Plate Agency, where she met countless people with her trademark kindness and wit. A proud graduate of Garner School, she carried with her the values of hard work and loyalty throughout her life.

She found joy in traveling, whether near or far, and never missed a chance to cheer for her beloved UNC basketball team. Her warmth, humor, and love of life touched everyone who knew her.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Pat Whitley; granddaughters, Carrie Thomas and Jennifer Dej-Udom; and two great-grandchildren, who will always carry forward her spirit of love and resilience. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard G. Jones, Jr., and Carlyle M. Harold, as well as her daughter, Katherine M. Jones.
A private graveside service will be held in Garner, North Carolina.

Anne’s life was a testament to devotion, family, and joy, and her memory will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
