Clyde Lewis

Clyde Lewis, born June 9, 1946, the youngest of 8 children died peacefully on September 23 with his wife by his side after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease since 2018.
He was preceded into death by his parents, Edson Taft Lewis Sr and Edra (Hough) and six brothers: Edson Jr, Donald, Dewey, Richard, Robert and Hank. Clyde is survived by his wife Becky ( Balluzzo), sister Mary Jo Ellens , sons Chris and Jonathon, daughter Amy (Rob) Hanover, stepchildren Maggie (Atique) Mian, Samantha (Casey) Cotter, Phillip (Jen) Sobus, Erin (Jared) Taylor and 21 grandchildren.
After living most of his youth on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, Clyde joined the US Navy in 1964 serving 21 years in the submarine service rising to the rank of Senior Chief. He then worked 20 years at Electric Boat in Groton Connecticut as an Electrical Planner building submarines. Becky and Clyde retired to Knightdale North Carolina in 2009.
A graveside ceremony will be held on October 4, 2025 at 10 am in the Field of Honor at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina.
