With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Josefina R. Marrero, who departed this life on June 27, 2026 at the age of 70.

Born on August 16, 1955 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Josefina lived a life defined by love, strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Throughout her life, she was known for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, and her remarkable ability to overcome life's challenges with grace and resilience. Whether spending time with loved ones, pursuing her favorite hobbies, or simply offering a listening ear and comforting words, she made every moment meaningful.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Myrta Abril, Manco Rodriguez, Jose Rosario, Luisa Hermenes, Carmin Rodriguez.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Otilio Rodriguez, children; Luis A. Marrero III, Cassandra Marrero, Thomas J. Marrero and Elizabeth Marrero, her grandchildren; Travis D. Marrero, Victor T. Jones, Thamarii V. Jones, Antonio, L. Marrero, Nathan L. Marrero, Brianna L. Marrero, Nattasija A. Johnson, Kayelanii A. McIntosh, Bastian C. Smith, Ashanti T. Marrero, Joel Marrero, Jaziah J. Marrero, Joel A. Marrero, great-grandchildren; Kha'ni K. Marrero, Luis A. Adjip Marrero, Castiel R. Adjip Marrero, Victor J. Jones, Lundynn H. Jones, Kru V. Jones, Zariya L. Marrero, Chanel Marrero  and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Those who knew Josefina will remember her for her warm beautiful smile, compassionate heart, unwavering love, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy will live on through the lives she influenced and the love she shared so freely.

A visitation/memorial service will be held on July 6, 2026 at City of Oaks Cremation in Raleigh, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life and to honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that her love remains with us always. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
