Doris Respess Robbins

The angels called Doris Robbins to be with her heavenly family.
Born Doris Virginia Respess to George Hyman Respess and Mamie Perry Respess in the small town of Belhaven, North Carolina. She was blessed with a full life of over one hundred years. In all the changes that happened over a century, she never forgot her roots or her moral compass. She was so proud of her upbringing in First Christian Church, where her father was a founding member and taught her Sunday lessons every week. This foundation followed her to Raleigh and to Hillyer Memorial Christian where she was a proud member.
Her family along with her church family and friends is what led to a wonderfully rich life. Doris never met a stranger and had friends from every decade.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her true soulmate James David Robbins Sr., her brothers George Hyman and Gilbert and her sister Clara. She was also proceeded by her sons James David Robbins Jr. (Jim) and George Mike Robbins and her daughter-in-law Judy Wilkinson Robbins.
She is survived by her sons Dan Perry Robbins and Jack Hinson Robbins and three daughter-in-laws; Pam, Brenda, and Laura whom she referred to as her daughters. She also leaves behind five grandsons and eight grandchildren.
