Kimberly "Kim" Buggs-Hill

Kimberly A. Buggs-Hill, affectionately known as “Kim” was born the 2nd daughter to the late Evelyn Chandler and George Buggs on Sunday, December 16, 1962 in Newark, New Jersey. Kimberly was united in marriage to Melvin A. Hill, and was blessed with one child, Melvin A. Hill, II who predeceased her in 2013.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia she pursued a military career in the United States Army, with an officer rank of 2nd Lieutenant. After serving her country she felt she had more to give so she decided to work professionally as a Quality Operations Microbiologist Manager at Grifol Therapeutics for over 20 years, until chronic illnesses consumed her.

Kim was the brightest of the bright and with her massive intellect and what those that knew her affectionately called her “self-taught” medical knowledge she was our own Surgeon General, that no doubt if she had set her mind to it, she could have held that office. Kim gave her heart and soul to her only child, Tony, who left us too soon at the early age of 23, and to all her family until she was no longer able to do so. She would give you the shirt off her back, shelter and food if you had none.
