Susan S. Haney-Montague

Susan Montague went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2023.

Susan was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, 1948 to Merle C. and Virginia Garrett Southall, who predeceased her.
Upon graduation from Albemarle School and Watson Beauty School in Charlottesville, Susan began her lifelong career, over 50 years, as a hair stylist. She took great pride in providing professional services to her clients, wanting each to leave feeling good and looking their best. Her secondary career was interior and exterior design at which she was quite accomplished. Susan participated in and excelled in many sports including horsemanship and skiing.
Susan is survived by her husband Bobby Montague and sons Brooks Haney and Josh Haney of Zebulon and sister Lee Boisseau of Petersburg, Virginia. Her sister Elizabeth McDermott of Charlottesville predeceased her. Susan's adoptive parents, Truman and Irene Southall of Waynesboro Virginia predeceased her. Surviving in that family are Mary Dilione of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Gloria Ashmore of Anderson, South Caroline.

Funeral services will be at New Hope Baptist Church on Louisburg Road on Monday, January 30. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm in the church parlor, service from 2pm-3pm. Inurnment in the church columbarium will follow the service.
