Virginia "Ginny" Chilcott

Virginia “Ginny” Chilcott, beloved wife, mother, sister, and Gigi, went home to be with God and her cherished mother, Loretta, on May 13, 2026.

Born on April 25, 1958 to Charles and Loretta Skinner, Ginny spent her childhood traveling the country and the world as part of a military family. Those early adventures shaped her love of travel and exploration. She eventually made her home in Virginia where she met the love of her life, Craig. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, family, and love.

Ginny was known for her kindness, her generosity of spirit, and her deep commitment to the people she loved. As a middle school teacher for more than 25 years, she touched countless lives. Her dedication to her students earned her the distinguished honor of Teacher of the Year twice—an achievement that reflected both her passion for education and her belief in the potential of every child. A woman of profound faith, Ginny was an active member of her church and a blessing to her community.

Ginny is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Craig Chilcott; daughters Donna Harrington (Matt) and Catie Oñate (Fabian); and cherished grandsons, Brycen Harrington and Oliver Oñate, who adored their Gigi. She also leaves behind her father, Charles Skinner (Ila Hurley); her sister and best friend, Donna Vaudrin (Larry); and nieces and nephews Chris Chilcott (Dawn), Denise Howell (Shawn), Ryan Vaudrin (Sonja), and Kristen Davis (Kyle).

Ginny lived a life marked by faith, love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, dear Ginny.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared when available. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginny’s name to the American Cancer Society or Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church.
