William Tucker

William A. Tucker (Bill) of Chocowinity, NC passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. Bill was born on June 19, 1944, in Atlantic City, NJ to Ernest and Clare Tucker. He grew up in Atlantic City and attended Atlantic City High School. He proudly served in the US Navy for 6 years from 1961 to 1966. Bill worked in construction, airport fire rescue, commercial driving, and finally many years in IT. In addition to growing up in Atlantic City (NJ), Bill also lived in southern New Jersey, Philadelphia (PA), Winston-Salem (NC), West Chester (PA), and North East (MD) before retiring to Chocowinity (NC). Everywhere he lived Bill made many wonderful friends. Bill had many interests, he was an animal lover, a model train enthusiast, a gourmet cook, a Master Gardener, a wildlife rehabber, and a builder of decks.
Bill is survived by Jean, his wife of 52 years, his son Sean Tucker (Stephanie), and his grandchildren Samantha, Sarah, and Shamus of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by his sisters Marguerite Tucker and Sister Mary Ellen Tucker. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers: Thomas, Michael, and Joseph.
Bill was very much a people person and valued all his friends old and new. A Celebration of Life will be planned for later in the summer.
