Ardith Arlene Halek

Ardith Arlene (Crittenden) Halek, 89 years, passed away peacefully in the company of her daughters on January 1, 2025 following a colorful 89 years of life.

Born in the Chicago suburb of Elmwood Park, IL the daughter of WWI infantry veteran William Orville Crittenden and Rose (Burianek) Crittenden, Ardith graduated from Chicago's Steinmetz H.S. Wife of Wallace Halek (Dec. 2001), Ardith was also preceded in death by grandson Daniel Bumpus (Dec. 2000) and is survived by her daughter's Allison Thurston (Lloyd) and Leigh Regan (Brian). Also survived by grandchildren Lauren Bumpus, Brianne Bumpus & B Lehachi, Colin & Alyssa Regan, Luke & Erin Regan, Alex Bumpus, Conor & Christine Regan, Hannah & Parker Wall, Jack and Will Thurston and great grandchildren Logan Rose Regan, Liam Regan and Piper Wall.

Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ardith enjoyed a good margarita and all things that sparkle. Her good natured sarcastic humor brought smiles to many in her later years at UNC Rex Rehab, at outings, family events and holidays. She will be greatly missed!
