Donna Marie McQuilkin

Donna Marie McQuilkin, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026 in Durham, NC. She was born on November 22, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Donna spent her life living in many places in the United States, though her heart was always happiest near the ocean. The sound of the waves and the feel of salt air brought her a sense of peace she carried with her wherever she went.

Donna was a lifelong lover of knowledge. She had a curious mind and a passion for learning, always eager to explore new ideas and perspectives. She especially enjoyed diving into conspiracy theories, engaging in lively conversations, and encouraging others to think deeply about the world around them. Her inquisitive spirit and thoughtful discussions will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: James Wilkus; Nichole (Ash) Waters; Greg Bowers; Hope Bowers; Joshua Bowers; and Joseph (Katie Ann) Bowers. She is also survived by her mother, Mary McQuilkin; her sisters, Chrissii McQuilkin and Patty (Joe) Wilson; her brothers, Raymond (Dominique) McQuilkin and Jimmy McQuilkin; and her seven cherished grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jorge Bowers; her mother, Christine McQuilkin; her father, James Foxx McQuilkin; her sisters, Janet Lafever and Jamie Hill.

A private service will be held for family.
Donna’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the questions asked, and the love she gave so freely to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
