James Daniel (Jim) Crosson, age 91 of Raleigh, NC died peacefully on January 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frederick and Frances Cain Crosson of Jackson, TN and brother, Fred Julius Crosson of Nashville, TN. Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years, Retta K Crosson. He is also survived by his sister, Frances E. Crosson of Jackson, TN and sister-in-Law, Paula C. Crosson. He is also survived by daughter, Vicky Crosson (Kevin Boyer) of Raleigh, NC; son, James Daniel Crosson, Jr. (Jen Bauman-Crosson) of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Wade Atkins (Anna Parisi) of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece, Cyndy Keyes (Glenn); nephews Clay Crosson (Sheila), Guy Crosson, and Jay Crosson (Marie).
Born in Haynesville, LA on November 3, 1930, his family later moved to Jackson, TN. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in business. He was employed by industrial corporations and retired in 1999 as controller of Pactiv in Plano, TX.

His family and friends will deeply miss Jim. One of his favorite sayings was “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others” by Pericles. Jim, a former member of Pullen Baptist Church, was active in service to those in the Backdoor Ministry. As a member of Hudson Presbyterian Church, Jim and Retta were part of the Amazing Grays group. Jim also enjoyed meeting friends for a men’s breakfast discussion group.
