Joan C. Doremus

Joan Carol Doremus, age 81, of Raleigh, North Carolina and formerly of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her fur babies. Her love for her family was like nothing else in this world – an unconditional love that knew no bounds and one she offered so freely. She lit up the room with her smile and illuminated the world with her heart. The family wishes they had more time together, but they will always cherish the time they had. Joan’s love will live on in their hearts forever.

Joan is survived by her husband, Stanley Doremus, Jr. and her three children, Sandi Doremus, Stacey Doremus and Stanley Doremus III (and his spouse, Mary Doremus and son, Alex Hudson); grandchildren, Sean Kuchenmeister, Brandon Duncan, Dawson Doremus, and Stanley Doremus IV; and her brothers, Ronald and Robert Smith (and his wife, Cathy Smith).

Joan never wanted to be the center of attention, so her memorial will be private. Friends wishing to honor Joan are invited to make a donation in her name to their local dog shelter.
