Timothy Rae Dove, 57, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on December 17, 2021 after a valiant battle with brain cancer.

Tim was born on April 14, 1964 to James and Helen Ann (Pope) Dove in Rapid City, SD. Although as a part of a military family he lived in South Dakota, Texas, Alaska, and Georgia, Tim spent most of his childhood in Bladenboro, NC. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2006. Tim trained as a CT Scan Technologist, and later earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration while working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Durham, NC. Tim’s colleagues will remember him as a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic.

Timothy loved Jesus, and he served his Savior by serving those around him. He could fix almost anything, and friends and family could count on him to lend a hand around the house or in the garage. He loved to work on anything vintage, from cars to electronics. Tim was an active member at Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest, and he lent his beautiful bass voice to the choir and devoted countless hours to serving at the Food Pantry.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lauren Dove, his daughter, Grace Dove, as well as his sisters, Sherry Dove and Lee Anne Bullard, and his mother, Helen (Ann) Anderson. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, and by numerous family members and friends. Tim is preceded in death by his father, James McRae Dove, and his brother, Larry Gene Dove.

Tim requested that his remains be cremated. As a military veteran, his ashes will be interred at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. A memorial service will be held at Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest, NC on Saturday, January 8 at 1PM. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Timothy to the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at the Duke Cancer Institute in Durham, NC or to Richland Creek Community Church in support of its Food Pantry.
