Betty Brown

Born in Kentucky, but raised in Evansville, Indiana, Betty Dawson Brown had an independent spirit that took her to California within days of her graduation from high school. She found a job just two blocks from the Hollywood walk of fame working for a small airline. When the headquarters moved to San Diego, Betty went along. In San Diego, she met her husband Larry Brown, whom she was married to for over 40 years. Together they lived in Indiana, NC, Illinois, SC, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida; raised two sons and were avid NC State fans. Betty spent the last 20 years of her career working for the NC State Vet school facility operations, where she was a force to be reckoned with, but also made some life long friends.
Betty was a great ear to bend and an excellent lunch date. She loved the beach, Christmas and shopping. She celebrated her 39th birthday for exactly 40 years and lived independently through the end of her life on Tuesday April 12, 2022. She leaves behind son Steve and wife Ashley Brown, son Ben and wife Melissa Brown and two grandchildren, Ashtom and Quinn Brown.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at Open Table UMC on Bloodworth Street in Downtown Raleigh on Monday, April 18th at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the V Foundation for cancer research at https://www.v.org/
