Cinda Brandt

Cinda Edwards Brandt of Fuquay Varina, NC died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on October 5, 2022 at the age of 72.

Cinda was born May 9, 1950 in Kirkwood, Missouri to Bob and Merle Edwards. After high school she graduated from Drury College with a degree in Business Economics after which she started a career at Purdue University.

She and her first husband, Jon Brandt, were blessed with two children: Melissa and Ryan. Cinda stopped her career to raise them, and volunteered for many organizations while they were growing up.

Cinda was an accomplished Bridge player, having achieved Life Master status. She enjoyed trips to the beach and other travel as well as spending time with her friends and family.

She was also a dog lover, and will be missed by her faithful beagle companion, Holly.

She was steadfast in her Christian faith and was ready and at peace with her decision to meet Jesus.

Cinda is survived by her two children, Melissa (Ken) Nelson and Ryan (Laura) Brandt; and her four wonderful grandchildren- Ryder, Emily, Miles and Claire. Her grandchildren were the light of her world.

She was preceded in death by her second husband John Yost.

Funeral services are being held Wednesday, October 12, at 11:30am at Fuquay Varina United Methodist Church on South Judd Parkway. Following the service the family invites all to share in a time of fellowship and story telling with light refreshments. The service will also be livestreamed at fvumc.org/brandt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Transitions Lifecare or the church or charity of your choice.
