Jean Johnson Lawrence

Jean Carol Johnson Lawrence, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday,October 28, 2022, at the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring in Raleigh,NC. She was born November 10, 1936, in Seaboard, to Samuel and Hazel (Maddrey)Johnson. She was a 1954 graduate of Seaboard High School. Retiring from years of dedicated service to the education system, she was well known as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of NC Schools in Halifax. Jean truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, thrift shopping, and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.

Jean had a zest for life and never missed an opportunity to experience new places and things. She is survived by her sons, Quentin and Stacey Parker; two sisters,Rachael (Johnson) Turner and Susan (Johnson) Moseley; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Parker, brother, Samuel Johnson (Margaret Johnson), sister, Loretta (Johnson) Buckner, and husband Linwood Lawrence. Family, friends, and others whose lives Jean touched are invited to GREYSTONE BAPTIST CHURCH ,7509 Lead Mine Road, Raleigh, from 11am to 1pm on Monday, November 7, 2022, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
