Barbara Cox

Barbara Cox, 81, of West Jefferson, NC, died in the early afternoon on November 23, 2022.

Born to Robert and Vivian Spaulding in 1941, Barbara moved to central Florida in 1959 where she worked for a time in the new and emerging space industry. There, she met and married Lee Cox, a missile inspector for General Dynamics, and together raised two children, Brandon and Bronwyn; later returning to live in her hometown in Ashe County, NC.

A devoted wife, mother & mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a woman of strong faith, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, two children, daughter-in-law (Heather), two grandchildren (Abigail, Amelia), a sister (Bobbie Lee) and brother (D. Travis), and several nieces, and nephews.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
