Michelle Anne Miller-Higgins

On the morning of January 1, 2023, Michelle Anne Miller-Higgins of Raleigh died at the age of 47. Michelle was born to David and Bonnie Miller in 1975. Although Michelle lived in several cities around the country while growing, she settled on Raleigh as her home with her husband of 10 ½ years, Noel. Michelle received her bachelor’s in music education in 1997 and later began managing benefits for a large company. She received her Master’s in Business Administration in 2011, and afterwards pursued a career in Information Technology and worked for several companies in the triangle area in several roles ranging from customer-facing technical support to corporate infrastructure project management.

Michelle was a talented musician and pursued not only playing the violin, piano, and trumpet, but was also a soprano vocalist and excelled at vocal performances. She studied dance and continued dancing as an adult as an active pastime, eventually joining a swing dance club. Michelle was also a talented artist and enjoyed following her passions for drawing, painting and many crafts. She was a member of the Raleigh Jaycee's and participated in HOBY mentorship program. As well as participating in the Saint Francis community garden. Michelle was known for being very smart, funny and friendly, quick to laugh or make a funny joke. She was also known for being a dedicated family member, a good friend to all and had a wide-ranging network of lifetime friends.

Michelle is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie. Michelle is survived by her husband, Noel, her father, David, and her brother, Mark. A private service will be held at City of Oaks Funeral Home in Raleigh.
