Ruth Runge Marsh

July 25, 1931 - January 19, 2023

Ruth Runge Marsh, 91, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at Springmoor’s health center in Raleigh, NC on January 19, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, David Heston Marsh, and her daughter, Connie. Ruth is survived by her children, Kenneth, Jean (Jerry Barker) and Ellen; her grandsons, Calvin Barker and Tristan Marsh; and her sister, Joan. Educated at Columbia University Nursing School, she worked as an RN, real estate broker, horseback riding instructor, courier, and administrative assistant. She was active in the Episcopal Church, the New Hope Community Garden, and her Spiritual Quest group. Beyond those, she enjoyed activities with her family, continuing to learn new technologies into her nineties, and advocating for vegetarianism, to which she attributed her longevity and high quality of life. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday, February 4 at 11:00 am at Church of the Nativity, 8849 Ray Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. A reception will follow the service.
