Arthur Albin

On January 30, 2023, Arthur Francis Albin of Chapel Hill, NC passed away at his Carolina Meadows home at the age of 92. His loving and dedicated wife Theresa Keller Albin was at his side.

Arthur was born in New York City on September 4th, 1930 to Robert F. Albin and Gertrude Krause Albin. He graduated from Manhattan Preparatory School and attended Manhattan College. After an early career with varied experiences, Arthur returned to school in the 1960’s to train for and became a computer programmer in New York City. Arthur continued his career as a Systems Analyst & Director of Information Systems for Lone Star Industries in Greenwich, Connecticut.

In 1951 Arthur married Dorothy Florence Schottman with whom he shared 10 children. Aileen Albin, Stephen (Ruth) Albin, Dorothy (Bryan Carson) Albin, Robert (Mary Jane) Albin, Kenneth (Karen Peacock) Albin, Brian (Carole Twitmyer) Albin, Thomas (Rose) Albin, Christopher Albin, Maureen (Matthew) Feddern, and Arthur Albin. Arthur has 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Aileen and his first wife Dorothy Schottman Albin.

Arthur had resided with his wife Theresa at Carolina Meadows where he is well known by both the staff and residents for his friendly and quipful manner. Arthur enjoyed nothing more than just simply being among his one pride and joy, his family.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill at 2:30pm on February 7, 2023.
