Rickie Jay Oakley

Ricky J Oakley passed away May 19 2023 in the care of SECU Hospice House Smithfield North Carolina after a brief illness with cancer and lower limb ischemia. Born on February 14, 1959 to Jenny Catherine Yates and Alvin Oakley, Rickie lived most of his life in the Raleigh –Durham area never straying too far from home.

His first passion, auto body work, Rickie had a keen eye and a good hand at restoring any damaged car to look brand new. In his down time before retiring as an electrician, he enjoyed camping at the beach, Atlantic and Kure being his favorite spots, fishing at Panther Lake, grilling on the back porch and having Sunday get togethers with family for a cook out and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his daughters Crystal A. Huff (spouse Jonathan Huff), Melissa Oakley and his grandchildren Kaylup, Lydia and Jadynn.

Rickie joins his parents Jenny and Alvin with his brothers, sister and nephew, Buddy, Larry, Marie and Jerry in what we are sure is a boisterous and joyous family reunion.
