Brenda Thomas Heath

Brenda Joyce Thomas Heath, 74, passed away at her home on July 5, 2023. She was born in Richmond County, N.C., the oldest of four daughters to the late Carleen and Robert (Rab) Thomas. Brenda married Rev. David Heath in 1971 and spent more than 50 years together, raising a family and serving the Lord as a minister’s wife.


Brenda had a servant’s heart and was happiest when she was doting on other people. She always brought her gifts of love and delicious treats, filling hearts and bellies with her famous sweet potato pies, Rice Krispie treats, percolator punch and the world’s best Thanksgiving dressing.

Her two sons, Shawn and Brandon, were the light of her life. That is until her beloved grandchildren entered the world. She delighted in being Granny.


Brenda is survived by her husband, Rev. David Heath; sons, Shawn (Shannon) of Wake Forest, NC; Brandon (Theresa) of Phoenix, AZ; and four grandchildren, Owen and Aiden (Wake Forest), Title and Stori (Arizona). She is also survived by her beloved sisters Sherry Thomas Jorgenson in South Dakota, Jeanie Thomas in New Mexico, and Kaye Thomas Findley in Colorado.


The family will receive friends at 3:00p.m. on Monday, July 10, at Wake Forest Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh.


The family is being assisted by City of Oaks Funeral Home and Cremation.
