Rhumell Ross

Rhumell Campbell Ross, 95, passed away on July 23, 2023.

She was a resident of Sunrise of Raleigh, and previously Magnolia Glen Retirement Community. Rhumell is survived by her daughter, Terri Hepler(Tom) of Raleigh; sons Mike Ross(Cindy) of Charlotte, and Steve Ross of Wilmington; grandchildren Jason Hepler, Josh Hepler, Travis Hepler, Amanda Rametta, Justin Ross, Hayden Ross and four great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ross; grandson, Christopher Ross; and brother, Rosser Campbell.

Rhumell grew up in Sanford, NC, where she met her husband, Marvin, on a blind date playing bridge. They were married in 1952 and moved to Raleigh, where she stayed busy raising their three children. Rhumell was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved playing golf and bridge at North Ridge Country Club. She and Marvin loved to take golf trips with their dear friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Rhumell loved to laugh, and even in her last years with dementia, she always had a smile for her caregivers and family.

A celebration of Rhumell’s life will be held in the chapel at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church on
Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
