DONNA RAYE (COTTRELL) ROXBERG
Donna Raye (Cottrell) Roxberg, 71 of Cary, NC finished her journey on this earth at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC on Friday, August 4, 2023 and entered into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior.
Donna Raye was born in Houston, TX, on October 21, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Beulah Lee (Damron) Ruark and Raymond Wesley Cottrell. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother Louie Paluso Jr, and her daughter Evelyn Camarillo. Donna Raye spent a large part of her life in California. She was the mother of two daughters, Evelyn “Evy” and Celeste “Cessie”, whom she loved very much. She worked in the hospitality industry for many years before moving to North Carolina in 1998. Although short in stature, she was big in personality. Life with her was never boring! She loved attention and was very affectionate. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Donna Raye would always make jokes, even during stressful times. She had a love of animals and at one time had a pet sitting business. She enjoyed shopping, cosmetics, perfumes, clothing and jewelry. She had a love of family and was a mother, a grandmother, a sister and a friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Celeste Golladay (Roger) of Wilmington, NC, her cousin and caretaker Hazel James (Bud) of Cary, NC, her grandchildren: Amanda Golladay of Cullman, Alabama, Cassandra Camarillo (Winton) of Moreno Valley, CA, Stephanie (Camarillo) McClure (Jacqueline) of La Habra, CA, Jennifer Sampson (Bryan) of Greenhead, FL, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, nieces: Kathy (Paluso) Martin of Henlawson, WV, Ginger (Paluso) Rosas of Whittier, CA, Melissa Paluso (Rusty) of Ontario, CA, and nephew Michael Paluso (Peggy) of Hurricane, WV, her best friend Gloria Allen of Fuquay-Varina, NC, close cousins: Julie (Damron) Shattuck (Vegas), Ben James, William James and many other loved ones.
A memorial service will be held in West Virginia in November, the date and time to be determined. Interment of the ashes will follow at the Marcum Family Cemetery in Radnor, WV.
