Elaine Joan Zisek

Elaine Joan Zisek, age 84, died peacefully in North Carolina among family and friends on December 07, 2023.

Elaine is survived by her son Jim Zisek, her daughter in-law Katherine, as well as her four grandchildren, Emma Blair (Zisek), Ethan, Sarah, and John. She is preceded in death by her Father William A. Adams, her Mother Ethel I. Adams (Eckrote), her brother William Adams and her son John Douglas Zisek.

She was born on February 26, 1939 in Conyngham, PA and went to Bryn Mawr College, where she earned a bachelors degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked primarily with babies in the Pediatric ward.

She loved Jesus, her family, all things cats, and all sorts of crafting. She sang in the choir of her churches for most of her life and loved the music and camaraderie of the choir. Handel’s Messiah was her favorite musical work.

She was very independent and lived by herself for over 60 years, moving to Cary, North Carolina to be with her family and new grandchild in 1996.

A memorial service is scheduled for January 7th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at White Plains Methodist Church in Cary, NC, with a small reception afterwards at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elaine’s life. The family would like to thank the church as well as Transitions Life Care (hospice) for their excellent care and support of Elaine during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be sent to White Plains Methodist Church, for support of their many ministries and outreach to the community.
