Andrea Mancour

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Andrea Jackson Mancour, longtime Rougemont resident, after surgery at Duke Regional Hospital. The multiple infections were too much for her exhausted body, and despite the valiant and compassionate actions of the staff she passed away at noon of January 5th 2024.
Andrea was 77 when she passed, and was attended by her youngest son and caregiver Andrew Luke Mancour (Rougemont), son Chester L Matthew Mancour and wife Jennifer Mancour (Timberlake), and eldest son Terry Lee Mancour and wife Laurin Council Mancour (Rougemont).

She is survived by a brother, Charles W. Jackson of Swartz Creek Michigan, her three sons, five grandchildren (Hayden, Morrigan, and Owen Mancour of Rougemont, Shawn Mancour of Timberlake, and Chelsea Freeman of Creedmoor) and one great-grandchild, Marley Rose Freeman.

Originally a native of Flint, Michigan and an attendee of Michigan State University, Andrea and her beloved late husband Irving Leslie Mancour moved their family to Durham North Carolina in 1977, where she pursued a career as a paralegal. Across her rich and rewarding life she had affiliations with several service organizations, including the Girl Scouts of America, the Boy Scouts of America, the American Red Cross, the Ruritans, and many and diverse local charities in the Durham area. She was a long time member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Durham and then later in life she was a member of the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Her love and affection for animals, community service, and providing a loving home for her family were the focus of her life.

A memorial service for Andrea has been set for Saturday January 20, 2024 at 2pm at Mount Bethel United Methodist church in Bahama, NC.
