Nahed Adly Elmasri passed peacefully on January 13th, 2024 surrounded by her family at home after a long and courageous battle.
She was born in Abu Tig, Egypt on March 4th, 1950 to the late Adly Hennawi and Rawhia Galy. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Reem Elmasri and her brother, Tharwat Hennawi.
She is survived by her two beloved daughters Yasmin (Ryan) and Maysa and four precious deeply loved grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nabila Ebrahim, her brother, Raafat Hennawi and her husband, Sami Elmasri.

She attended Alexandria, Egypt High School and the University of Alexandria Engineering School. After graduating, she worked as a Civil Engineer in the Egyptian Army.
In 1987, she and her family immigrated to New Orleans, Louisiana and after two years moved to North Carolina where she and her family established as home. She also worked as a contracted linguist in Iraq with the United States Army for 6 years. She has enjoyed retirement with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She was strong in her faith and loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her family & friends deeply and unconditionally.

The family wishes to thank her doctors and caregivers. She is deeply loved by those who knew her and will be very missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation to Pretty in Pink Foundation, Caring Community Foundation, St. Jude, and/or the Komen Foundation.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church 3405 N New Hope Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604. A service will be held at 11:00 am with a 1:00 pm cemetery ceremony at Raleigh Memorial Park 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC, 27612.
