Thomas, “Tom” Henry Foster Jr., 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his three children, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC. He was born on July 1, 1937 in Darby, PA. Tom was the oldest child of Thomas Henry Foster Sr. and Margaret “Peg” Robinson Foster; having a younger sister, Kathleen. He grew up in Sharon Hill, PA, graduating from Sharon Hill High School in 1955 and furthered his education at the College of Arts in Philadelphia, where he focused on Industrial Design. He spent his career working at several major medical manufacturing firms and later started his own consulting business, of which he retired from in 1999.

Tom was a family centered man who loved his children and his dogs. He enjoyed coaching pop warner football and was a mentor to youth in the community. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, cheering for the Wolfpack, taking trips to the NC beaches and mountains, and watching movies. Tom was exceptional with his creativity, carpentry, and automotive skills. He will be remembered for his positive attitude, giving nature, selflessness, and antics as a jokester.

He is survived by his son Thomas Henry Foster III of Clayton, NC; his eldest daughter Tanya Nelson (Bill) of Apex, NC; grandsons, Taylor and Benjamin; and youngest daughter, Kim Messina (Frank) of Lutz, FL; grandchildren, Grace and Kyle. He is also survived by his younger sister, Kathleen Wahl of Casco, Maine.
