Patricia Murphy

Patricia "Trish" Murphy passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024, surrounded by her beloved husband and children.

Trish was born on February 15, 1959, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Jemima McGonigal in Kearny, New Jersey. She attended St. Cecilia's Grammar and High School, class of 1977. She married James Murphy in 1984 and moved to Vernon, NJ, where she raised her family. She was a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 30 years.

Trish was a loving wife to James Murphy and the devoted mother of Robert and wife Alison Smillie; Erin and husband Daniel Trovillion; and Kendrick and wife Taylor Murphy. She was a cherished Grammy to Aedan, Aine, Callan, Rowan, Hannah, and Declan. She was also a loving sister to her siblings; Joseph, Michael, Kevin, Sean, Maura and Deirdre, and her many nieces and nephews that she cared for deeply.

Trish will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and unwavering love and dedication to her family. She had a gift of making others feel welcome and cared for - whether it was with her big bashes or her great hugs. Trish made friends with everyone. She also had a great affection for her many pets throughout her life and will be missed dearly by Maisie, Ruby, and Gabby.

A memorial service will be held on April 6, 2024, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Florham Park, NJ. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Trish's memory.
