Kathleen Ruth Marikar, born May 7, 1942, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family after suffering from cancer on March 27, 2024.

She was the daughter of Louise and Andrew Corrigan, the sister of Edward A. Corrigan and grew up in North Smithfield, RI. Kathleen leaves behind her husband, Mohideen (Mo) Marikar, her daughter Kristin K. Goddin and much-loved son-in-law, Will Goddin, her grandchildren Calista, Cole, Lucas and Maggie Goddin of Cary, North Carolina, and Aly Manzoni-Darpino of North Easton, MA, as well as many Nolan, Jones, and Battle cousins. Kathleen is predeceased by her son, Andrew Louis Boisvert and her sister-in-law, Suzanne Lambert Corrigan.

Kathleen was a teacher who overcame dyslexia to attend Dean Junior College, Boston University and completed her Masters Degree at Rhode Island College. Teaching was her passion and throughout her teaching career taught children with different learning abilities to meet their potential. Kathleen was a life-long learner, was a talented watercolor artist, enjoyed reading, travel and all types of handicrafts.

She was a proud grandmother, often attending school events and educational conferences. She was a Quaker and understood the value of peace, looking for the light in all individuals but also speaking truth to power when faced with political or cultural issues. She was a valued member of all of the communities in which she worked and lived, and her presence will be missed.
