Gary Black

Gary Black, 75, of Raleigh, NC died on Saturday, June 22nd.
He grew up in Columbia Station, Ohio. He earned his M.Ed., B.S. Ed, and B.F.A. at Kent State University, and his A.A. at Cuyahoga Community College. He enjoyed writing, painting, playing guitar and teaching art and music throughout his life.
He wrote, produced and recorded original music, illustrated children’s books, and was an accomplished painter. As a survivor of a life-threatening illness, he was inspired to write his first book Gyroscope which won a Sepsis Heroes award.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 48 years, with whom he shared many adventures, and his children: Lydian, Dorian, and Audrey.
