September 6, 2024

Beverly Bremer, beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home in Cary, North Carolina the morning of September 6, 2024. She had been looking forward to reaching her 90th birthday and was pleased to celebrate that milestone with friends and family just a week prior to her passing.

Beverly was born in Ithaca, NY on August 29, 1934 to Norman and Mae Bremer. She graduated from Ithaca High School in 1952. In 1963, she married John Yunker, and they lived for many years in Dryden, NY, where they raised two children. During this time, Beverly worked as a Building Manager of Uris Hall at Cornell University.

Beverly had a lifelong fascination with archaeology, particularly ancient Egypt, sparked by the 1977 Tutankhamun exhibit she attended in Chicago. She fulfilled her dream of visiting the pyramids on a Nile River tour in 2008. She also held a lasting love for classical music and golden-era Hollywood films and movie stars.

She is survived by her loving children, son David (Elisa Weber) Yunker; daughter Susan (David) Meyer; her granddaughters Bonnie (Kevin) Goslen and Sara Meyer; her nephew Rob (Nadine) Bernard, and their sons Jaron and Kiefer. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Mae Bremer, and her sister, Arden Bremer.

Beverly will be fondly remembered for her kind and helpful nature, her love of all things blue, and her legendary chocolate pie. Her granddaughters will always cherish the memory of going to her apartment every Christmas Eve to bake cookies with their grandmother and open the stockings she had so lovingly filled for them.

At Beverly’s request, no funeral service will be held. Please contact the family for private memorial information.
