Thomas Walter Mills

Thomas (Tom) Walter Mills, born on July 28, 1939, in Albany, NY, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean E. Mills nee Lawrence, daughters, Laurie A. Wilmers (Alan) and Stacie L. Gilfillan (Peter) and son Lawrence T. Johnson (BobbiJo). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Noah T. Poole, Dalton G. Poole, Michael T. Gilfillan, Abigail K. Gilfillan, Cody R. Johnson and Casey T. Johnson.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Walter H. and Helen A. Mills and siblings, Donna F. Giddings and David F. Mills.

Tom lived a full life as an Army reservist for 8 years and as a hard working carpenter with Union Local 117 and a truck driver.

He will be remembered for his Harley Davidson Road King, big bowls of ice cream, general grumpiness, offensive remarks and the way he “loved the babies”.

The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the nurses and staff with Heartland Hospice who provided support and guidance to his family and care for Tom during his final days.
