Anthony (Tony) Wayne Wertz

Anthony (Tony) Wayne Wertz, 69, of Fuquay Varina, passed away on October 19, 2024. He was born in Seneca, New York, in 1954 to Roy and Jane Wertz, and was raised in Salem, Virginia. He graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1973.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Wertz and Jane Tingler Wertz. He is survived by his sister, Robin Wertz Craighead, and her husband Doug; his daughter, Nichole Wertz Baird, and her husband Drew, along with their three children, Alexis, Nina, and Abigail Baird; his son, Sean Wertz, and his children, Jackson and Ella Jane Wertz; and his daughter, Kayla Wertz.

A talented landscaper, Tony brought beauty to the Roanoke Valley through his creative landscaping business. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed activities such as baseball, basketball, camping, tubing, and kayaking. Tony was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8, from 1 to 3 PM at City of Oaks Funeral Home and Cremations in Raleigh, NC.
