Kerry James Flynn, of Clayton, NC, passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2024 at the age of 65. His unexpected passing leaves a void and emptiness in all who knew him.

Kerry was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 13, 1959 and raised in Hazlet, NJ, until moving to North Carolina in 1996.

As a baby he won the Cutest Baby Contest in Monmouth County, NJ. He played football and wrestled in high school. His careers included working as a longshoreman and as a Local 11 Ironworker, and in later years house renovations and landscaping.

He had an extremely strong work ethic, was generous with his time, and was always the first to offer a helping hand. Kerry’s hobbies included fishing, cheering on the NY Giants, watching movies, listening to Oldies music, coaching his son’s sports teams, enjoying the beach, relaxing in his pool, spending time with his favorite grandson, volunteering at the food pantry for a local church, and was known for being lighthearted and joking around. He and his family were blessed to find Cornerstone Church in January of 2021 where he came to love the Lord.

He cherished his family, was passionate about his country and his Irish heritage! His lifelong dream was to visit Ireland, which he proudly fulfilled last October where he even got to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Kerry is survived by his mother Doris, loving wife Karen of 40 years, daughter Kerri-Lynn Netko and her husband Adam Netko, son Patrick Flynn, and grandson Adam Netko II; as well as siblings, Florence Flynn-Fortuna, Michael Flynn, Brian Flynn, Terrence Flynn, Kelly Flynn, and Casey Flynn. He was predeceased by his father John Flynn Sr., siblings Kevin Flynn, John Flynn Jr., Doreen Flynn, and Colin Flynn.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at 3:00 pm, at Cornerstone Church: 9725 Fayetteville Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603 with a reception immediately following the service.
