Thomas Edward "Ted" Davenport, Sr.

Thomas Edward “Ted” Davenport, Sr., 86, of Willow Spring, NC passed away on November 23rd, 2024.

Ted was born August 6, 1938, in Creswell (Washington County), NC to the late Hubert and Callie Davenport. He graduated from Roanoke Bible College (now Mid-Atlantic Christian University) in Elizabeth City, NC in 1960 and later attended Milligan College in Tennessee.

Ted had a long career as a minister in the Churches of Christ/Christian Churches throughout the mid-Atlantic region for almost five decades. Later, he worked as a real estate agent, bookkeeper and computer advisor. He was also adept at many skills from carpentry, to electronics, to automobiles, and was even a skilled tailor.

Ted is survived by his wife of 61 years, Flossie (née Nooney of Plymouth, NC). He is also survived by four children: Thomas II and his wife Michelle of Holly Springs, NC/Murrell’s Inlet, SC; Craig and his wife Julie of Williamsburg, VA; Chad and his wife Thia of Mocksville, NC; Dawn and Matt of Fuquay-Varina, NC and grandchildren: Cade, Trevor, Nico, Skylar, Camryn, Noah, Parker, Peyton, Marlie, Henry and Clara.

Any memorial services will be announced at a later date.
