Cheryl Young

Cheryl Young, 61, former resident of Seneca Falls, NY and current resident of Durham, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

In keeping with Cheryl and the family's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Beverly Animal Shelter at beverlyanimalshelter.com.

Cheryl was born in Seneca Falls on November 14, 1961, the daughter of Gary and Bettylou (Millis) Young. Cheryl graduated from Mynderse Academy and had successful careers in travel and financial industries. Cheryl had a great love of the outdoors, travel and animals (especially horses). She traveled globally exploring many key cultural and historic sites and had a fondness to meet wild animals in their natural habitat. One of Cheryl’s favorite pastimes was hiking the trails with her golden doodle Buddy.

Cheryl is predeceased by her mom and brother, William (Bill) Young. She is survived by dad, Gary Young now living in Durham, NC; sister and brother-in-law Cindi and Daniel Laskey of St. Petersburg, FL; close friend Russell Jones of Raleigh and several friends along with her beloved pup and hiking partner Buddy.
