Virginia Carroll

Virginia Lee Carroll, 75, of Wendell, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. Born on September 10, 1949, in Augusta, Georgia, to Henry King and Shirley Haddock, and later blessed with stepfather Thomas Haddock, Virginia lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and service to others.
Virginia's love story began in first grade when she met Ronnie Carroll. Years later, they reconnected and married on April 28, 1986, sharing a beautiful life together until his passing. Their story was a testament to the power of enduring love and perfect timing.
For 35 years, Virginia served at the Raleigh Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), where she touched countless lives with her warm personality and dedication to service. She held a Bachelor's degree and approached both her career and personal life with unwavering commitment and intelligence.
Virginia was a woman of deep Christian faith who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, singing, sewing, and most of all, spending precious time with her family. Known for her warm embraces, she was always ready with a big hug that made everyone feel truly welcomed and loved. Her greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel like family – a trait remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children Ginger Hollifield, Daniel Allen, and Shanna Carroll; her cherished grandchildren Victoria, Alexis, Ashton, Haleigh, Julie, Dusty, Hunter, and Holden; her beloved great-grandchildren Penny and Ruby; and her dear siblings Cheryl Wood, Mark King, and Stephen Haddock. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronnie, her mother Shirley, her father Henry, and her stepfather Thomas.
Virginia drew strength and comfort from Psalm 23, which perfectly reflected her faithful and generous spirit. She was a strong woman and a good-hearted giver whose impact on others was profound and lasting. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and love.
