In Loving Memory of

David Edwin Bowling

Fuquay-Varina
,
North Carolina
Died:
January 31, 2025

David Edwin Bowling, born September 4, 1956, was the son of Edwin and Doris Bowling of Fuquay-Varina. Dave is survived by sisters Theresa Campbell and Susan Weathers. His wife of 41 years, Char, was with Dave outside on a beautiful day when he experienced a cardiac event. His daughter Jessamyn is grateful for Dave meeting and loving his daughter-in-law Lacey and grandson Esmond Williams.

Dave’s life could be told quite simply: he loved nature, his friends and family, country music, helping others and maintaining an old log home. A true Varina boy, his love for NC ran deep as the Cape Fear and shone bright as Cape Lookout, where he enjoyed fishing and camping. Dave’s problem-solving skills gave him satisfying work in the US Army and later at TE (formerly Tyco/Raychem). He may be famous for his Redneck Wind Tunnel. His solutions to problems often seemed ingenious, though he told us regularly, “There are no simple jobs.”

Dave will be remembered for his humor, his patience with Yankees, his marvel at birdsong in the backyard and love for a good dog on a long walk. If you are not already, we would urge you to love your neighbor as Dave did, pick up your roadside trash and register to become an organ donor.

Family and friends will celebrate and remember Dave on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1-4pm at the Bass Lake Conference Center in Holly Springs, NC.
In place of flowers, donations can be made to Preserving Home, P.O. Box 4099 Cary, NC 27519
