Linda Rey Zulueta, passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 78 in Durham, NC, USA. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Benjamin Tan, and a loving mother to her four children, Eric, Michelle, Grace, and Lawrence. Linda’s life was filled with love, warmth, and a deep commitment to her family.

Linda was born on June 7, 1946, in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque, Philippines to Juancho Zulueta and Lorenza Rey as the youngest of six siblings. She attended the University of the East in Manila, where she met her husband. They got married on December 13, 1968. In 2008, she and her husband migrated to North Carolina, USA to join her daughter and son. In October 2023, she was diagnosed with bile duct cancer, a battle she faced with incredible courage and grace. Given only 3-6 months left to live, she prayed for an extension to life and God blessed her with an additional year. In January 2024, she returned to the Philippines for the last time visiting family and friends. Throughout her illness, Linda remained an inspiration to all who knew her, showing unwavering faith and determination to spend as much time with her family as possible. She lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and resilience.

Linda's legacy lives on in her children and her beloved grandchildren: Michael, Erika, Monique, Miguel, Azach, Eliana, Azaiah, and Beatriz. She cherished every moment spent with her family, and her love and wisdom will continue to guide them through the years ahead. She had a love for cooking, especially for her grand children — misua for birthdays, adobo and afritada, sinigang, pancit, and more.

Linda’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, love, and laughter will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, surrounded by love.

Linda’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who supported her throughout her illness, as well as to the many friends and family members who provided love and comfort during this difficult time.

May she rest in peace.
