It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Carlton Chittum (Bob), a beloved father, husband, and friend, who joined Jesus and those that have gone before on April 9, 2025. Born on August 8, 1946, Bob lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, two cherished sons, Mike and Robby, from his first marriage to Shirley Chittum; four bonus sons Sean, Eric, Troy, and Ryan, beloved sisters Cathy and Becky, twenty-two grandchildren one great grandchild, and one great-great grandchild. He taught his sons the values of kindness, integrity, and faith as he also lived.

A faithful servant of God, Bob loved Jesus and was an active member of his church. He found joy in worship and fellowship. His unwavering faith and generous spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered for his compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support for those in need.

In his later years, Bob bravely faced the challenges of dementia but passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on April 26th 1pm located at 947 Lyle St, Bedford, VA 24523. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories. This will be a simple memorial, no flowers needed, just drop by and share your love with the family if you want.
