Kathleen Bradley

Kathleen Mary Bradley, 86, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8th, at the Davis Community, Wilmington, North Carolina, surrounded in her final days by her loving children and granddaughters, Kate and Maggie.

Kathy was born and reared in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania with her sisters Mary and Ronnie , the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Gross.

On May 25, 1963, Kathy married Martin Bradley, who predeceased her in 2005, and is survived by her four children: Marty (Jan) of State College, PA; Mimsie Zook (Sam) of Perkasie, PA; Frank (Mary), of Wilmington, NC; and Wish (Lisa) of Valley Forge, PA.

Kathy spent most of her adult life in Richboro, PA, raising her family and contributing her time and energy to her kids’ many activities—whether managing the Little League concession stand, moving soccer goals, making costumes for school events, or tamping down illicit teenage schemes—Kathy was central to her community and known for her sharp wit. She was a long-time school bus driver who enjoyed the music of the day (especially classic rock - often getting upwards of 20% of the lyrics correct) dispensed political commentary liberally (emphasis on liberal), took in the dogs her kids “adopted,” and read fiction voraciously until her eyes wore out on her.

Known as Grammy to her clan, she worshipped her grandies: Patrick Bradley (Amelia DeGory), Ken Zook (Sarah Lapp), Sean Bradley (Peggy McWeeney), Melissa Ray (Holden), Molly Rosanelli (Dom), Colin Bradley (Lauren Steinitz), Joseph Zook, Rowan Bradley (Ben Pope), Aidan Bradley, Maggie Bradley, Kate Bradley and Ian McLaughlin. She additionally loved her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Kathy to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, The Northampton Area Public Library, the Macular Degeneration Association, or the charity of your choice.
